Former Berrien County Treasurer Bret Witkowski has been named the new managing director of the Van Buren County Road Commission. The commission’s board announced it has appointed Witkowski as the incoming director this week. It says Witkowski, who currently serves as the business manager of Michigan Lutheran Seminary, will succeed Dan Bishop when he retires at the end of this month. Van Buren County Road Commission Chair Wayne Nelson says after a comprehensive search, the board is “pleased to have found the best individual to assume leadership.” He says Witkowski has a wide range of experience and “a track record of strong leadership that will assist the road commission in carrying out its mission: to provide a safe and reliable transportation system.”
