A variety of statewide landmarks “went red” Friday to support heart health and the Go Red for Women movement. The American Heart Association says the Blue Cross Blue Shield tower in Detroit, Grand Rapids skyline and Devos Children’s Hospital, Downtown Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo City Hall, and Blue Cross Blue Shield building in the state capital in Lansing all took part.

Go Red for Women is a campaign designed to raise awareness about heart health. For the day, everyone is encouraged to wear red and to read up on what it takes to help prevent heart attacks and strokes.
