A woman is dead following a fire in Lincoln Township on Thursday. The Lincoln Township Fire Department says it responded to the scene at 4181 Ridge Road around 5:30 a.m. Firefighters arrived to find the two story home fully engulfed. Police told them there was a car in the garage and someone may be inside. The crews attempted to enter, but found the floors had already collapsed. The roof also collapsed. The fire was brought under control by about 7:15 a.m. An excavation company was then brought in to search for a victim and the woman was found around 11 a.m. The fire crews remained on scene until around 2:40 p.m. putting out hot spots. The cause of the fire is not yet known and it is under investigation by Michigan State Police.
