Something new is coming to Tulip Time in Holland this spring. Festival Director Gwen Auwerda says they’re bringing in the Bicycle Showband Crescendo from the Netherlands for their first visit ever to the U.S.
“If you can envision people wearing Dutch costumes, wooden shoes, riding their bikes, and playing their instruments all at the same time,” Auwerda said. “They’re like a marching band, they ride in formation.”
Auwerda says they’re also partnering with the Holland Haven Marathon to create a new event for runners called the Double Dutch Challenge, and they’re looking for about 1,000 volunteers to help out at the Tulip Time Festival. It runs May 6 through the 14 and you can find out more at TulipTime.com.
