Ford’s first electric pickup truck has received a big honor. The winners of the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Yea Awards were announced this week, and the Ford truck is the Truck of the Year. Ford Vice President for Electric Operations Darren Palmer says the company is working to build more of the electric pickups to meet strong customer demand. Another electric — the Kia EV-6 — was named North American Sport Utility of the year. One gas-powered vehicle, the Accura Integra, was the winner for car of the year. This is the first time that two of the three award winners are electric vehicles.
