As a new state legislature has gone into session, State Representative Regina Weiss of Oak Park has introduced bills to repeal the Right to Work law in Michigan. Michigan chapter of Americans for Prosperity Director Annie Patnaude says it will have a chilling effect on workers and the state economy.

“This is going to harm our economy,” Patnaude said. “It’s fragile right now, and we ought to be very cautious and careful about making decisions that would create a chilling effect for businesses that are looking to come and set up shop in our state, including electric vehicle manufacturers.”

Patnaude says Michigan is in competition with other states and rolling back a fundamental freedom does not serve workers well. Weiss, however, says these laws do nothing but hurt hard working Michiganders.
