Gas prices look like they’ll stay low going into the New Year. According to a Triple A report, today’s average in Michigan is $3.03, up 4¢ from a week ago and 5¢ less than a year ago. Adrienne Woodland, spokeswoman for Triple A, has some reasoning for the relief at the pump.
“Crude oil prices are much, much lower than the prices were earlier this year when we saw those highs. Also right now, we are at some of the lowest prices of the year,” says Woodland.
The most expensive places to buy gas in the state are Traverse City, Jackson, and Ann Arbor. The cheapest are Saginaw, Flint, and Lansing.
