Census Data Says Michigan Population Declined Again

Michigan continues to lose residents. The latest census data released yesterday showed a population decrease of 3,391 people on July 1 2022 from the year before, and the state has lost around 40,000 residents since the 2020 census. Michigan was among 18 states to lose residents in the past year. Florida was the state that had the largest percentage of population increase in 2022 for the first time since 1957.
