Sunday marks 21 years since the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, an attack that killed more than 29-hundred people. Events will be held all over Michigan for the Community Day of Remembrance and Scout Salute according to deputy scout executive with the Michigan Crossroads Council, Aaron Gach.

“The Boy Scouts are hosting community members from across the state of Michigan to participate alongside our scouts in a Community Day of Remembrance and Scouts Salute to Remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.”

Events will be held in Farmington, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Traverse City and Bay City. Even though the Boy Scouts were not alive during 9-11, Gach says this is an opportunity to for adults to help provide information to give young people context about the attacks.
