Set for the weekend of August 5 is the Benton Harbor River Fest. Event committee co-chair Trenton Bowens tells WSJM News they’ll have a wide variety of music over three days along the riverfront.

“We’ve got blues, country, R&B, rap, soul, jazz, gospel,” Bowens said. “It’s a three day music festival in downtown Benton Harbor at the river, and we’re having several different vendors. People can come out to support, listen to different music, and have fellowship and a great time in the city.”

Bowens says there will be plenty of good food, and a highlight will be R&B singer Glen Jones. This is the second year for River Fest after it was brought back last year following a lengthy hiatus. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The event will be held at 800 Riverview Drive. Bowens says this year’s festival is bigger than last year, and he looks forward to making next year’s festival bigger than this year’s. You can find out more at the event’s Facebook page.
