Opioid deaths in Berrien County are already 79% what they were in 2021. Berrien County Health Department health officer Guy Miller says with 29 fentanyl-related deaths already, we could pass last year. He says people need to be informed and it needs to be done without a stigma. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports cocaine and meth are being mixed with fentanyl without the knowledge of the buyer. The county Board of Health warns the drugs laced with fentanyl are more dangerous than others.
