Drivers are being advised of a bridge project about to start near Watervliet. The Michigan Department of Transportation says it’s investing $800,000 to repair the M-140 bridge over the Paw Paw Lake outlet near Watervliet starting Wednesday. The work will include rebuilding the bridge deck and repairing the abutments and piers. The M-140 bridge will be closed, and traffic will be detoured on Hagar Shore Road, 70th Street, and Red Arrow Highway for the duration of the project. It’s expected to be completed in late October. MDOT says the work will improve the safety of the bridge.
