The Whirlpool Foundation has announced the results of its annual Sons and Daughters Scholarship local competition. This year, eight Whirlpool Corporation families in the Benton Harbor-St. Joseph area were honored with awards. For 2022, the foundation has increased the number of $24,000 scholarships from three to six. It also granted one $2,500 honor award and one $1,000 incentive award to encourage Whirlpool’s sons and daughters to pursue additional education opportunities. Whirlpool Foundation Director Deb O’Connor says the group is proud to be “able to assist in providing educational opportunities for young individuals to pursue their dreams.” She adds they’re also happy to award more scholarships this year. The Whirlpool Foundation Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program is now in its 70th year.
