South Haven Rotary Names Teacher Of Year

The Rotary Club of South Haven has named Baseline Middle School social studies teacher Michael Dubbink its Teacher of the Year. Dubbink has been teaching in South Haven for six years and graduated from Grand Valley State University. His wife, Allison, was named Rotary’s Teacher of the Year in 2016. The award recognizes a South Haven teacher or educator who best exemplifies the attributes of quality teaching and is an outstanding volunteer in the community. Candidates are nominated by their peer educators. The Rotary club donates $250 to the South Haven Community Foundation in honor of the recipient. Dubbink has also served as youth director for the past decade at South Haven’s Hope Church and the family has lived in the city for 18 years. They have three kids who attend SHPS and he is also a realtor for Coldwell Banker Weber-Seiler in South Haven.
