The Friends of the Kal-Haven Trail and the Friends of the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail are excited to hold the 35th annual Trailblazer event this Saturday. Friends of the Kal-Haven Trail Chair Jeff Green tells WSJM News the event is a bike ride all the way from Kalamazoo to South Haven and back on the Kal Haven Trail. It’s returned after being canceled in 2020 and 2021.

“Just to be able to get out on the trail again, just to be able to get out with a group of like-minded people and engage in a community activity like this, I think people are going to be really involved in it,” Green said.

Green says more than 100 people will take to the trail Saturday. There will be stops at several locations along the way, including Kendall, Bloomingdale, and Grand Junction. Green says some riders make the journey in a few hours while others take their time. Either way is fine because the Trailblazer is not a race. Anyone who wants to take part can just show up to the trail head in Kalamazoo starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
