Charles A. “Chuck” Witkoske

Charles A. “Chuck” Witkoske, 72, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Tuesday, May 2, 2022 at his home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Private burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in Scottdale. Memorial donations in Chuck’s name may be made to Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor. Chuck was born November 14, 1949 in Benton Harbor to Volney & Dorothy (Johns) Witkoske. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1967, from Lake Michigan College with an Associates Degree, and attended Andrew’s University. Chuck spent twenty-five years as a chemist at Miles Laboratory in Elkhart, IN, and finished his career at the Berrien Springs water treatment plant, retiring after ten years in 2015.

Chuck was a member of Sarett Nature Center in Benton Harbor. That was just one of the many places where he enjoyed his favorite pass-times of bird watching and photography. He loved the outdoors and the beauty of God’s nature and the flying creatures he created.

Chuck is survived by his sister Cindy Cutler-Awrey of Holland; his twin nephews-Clark & Jackson Cutler of Holland; and several cousins in the area. He was preceded in death by his Father Volney in December 2018, and his Mother Dorothy in October 2019.
