The Cass County Prosecutor’s office has several events planned for Crime Victims’ Rights Week next week. It says it wants to promote service, trust and hope by bringing together prosecutors, elected officials, schools, students, law enforcement, the judicial system, and more to take part in a celebration of victim empowerment. Among the events taking place are a display of grade school student artwork all week at the Cass County Law and Courts Building in Cassopolis and a flagpole ceremony and reception on Friday in front of the Cass County Law and Courts Building. Also, the student winners of the “Going to Court” booklet contest will be announced. The book is provided to young crime victims as part of their courtroom preparation. That’ll be at the Cass County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday. Everyone is invited to take part in the activities.
