Andrews University has completed renovations at the lobby of its Chan Shun Hall. Andrews College of Professions Dean Kimberly Pichot tells WSJM News the business administration building was first constructed in 1989, and it hasn’t been upgraded since.

“We had done a study of things that the students were looking for, and they wanted study spaces, they wanted spaces to hang out,” Pichot said. “Our lobby was more of a marble floor, empty space that people could rent out for events, a literally empty space.”

Thanks to a donation from AdventHealth, Andrews has been able to change that. The lobby at Chan Shun Hall is now more of a relaxed location where students can gather and study. AdventHealth is a network of more than 80,000 caregivers in ten states that provides Andrews students with internships and residencies. A public reception to unveil the hall renovations and a ribbon cutting will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m.
