St. Joseph Today is planning to kick off the summer season on May 21 at Whirlpool Centennial Park with the Compass Music Fest. Events Manager Daniele Crevier tells WSJM News the party will be all day long with live music.

“We’re definitely looking forward to the summer and we’re kicking it off with our eight hour music fest at Whirlpool Centennial Park,” Crevier said. “That’s going to be on Saturday, May 21, and this will feature five bands, local foods, craft beer, some regional wines, and just a really fun day in St. Joe.”

This will be the first year for the Compass Music Fest. It used to be Barbecue, Blues, and Bluegrass.

“We took a couple of years off because of COVID, and we decided to rebrand a little bit in that offseason, kind of opening it up by changing the same to Compass Music Fest. It opened us up to a variety of music genres. So we can kind of switch it up every year, which is nice.”

Crevier says those who attend the Compass Music Fest will get wristbands so they can leave Whirlpool Centennial Park and come back if they so choose. The headliner is JP Saxe, and also performing are Morningsiders, Mary Lambert, Jack Droppers and The Best Intentions, and the Backups and The Get Downs.
