Berrien RESA Communications Supervisor Karen Heath is the Michigan School Public Relations Association’s 2021 Gerri Allen Outstanding School Communicator of the Year. The award recognizes a practicing school official for outstanding leadership in school public relations and communications. Heath received the surprise honor during Berrien RESA’s February 14 Board of Education meeting. The MSPRA Board says Heath understands the value of a year-round and ongoing communications program, practices communication management techniques, shows excellent personal communication skills, and demonstrates outstanding leadership. Heath is a former president of the MSPRA Board and she calls the award the honor of her career.
