The man arrested for two Christmas eve fatal shootings in Benton Harbor has been charged with murder. The Berrien County Prosecutor’s office tells us 37-year-old Dwand Carter of Benton Harbor is charged with two counts of open murder, one count of felon in possession, and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Carter is accused of murdering a 37-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man Christmas eve in the 700 Block of Buss Street. He was arraigned Monday and bond was set at $1 million. Carter is facing up to life in prison if convicted.
