The Chikaming Township Police Department is investigating a fatal crash on Saturday. It says officers were sent to Red Arrow Highway south of Harbert Road just before 10 p.m. and found a vehicle on the east side of the road with heavy damage. It appeared to have rolled several times and hit a tree. The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Travis Germain of Michigan City, Indiana. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers — a 24-year-old man from New Carlisle, Indiana and a 20-year-old man from Noblesville, Indiana — suffered non-lie threatening injuries. Police say their preliminary investigation shows there may have been another vehicle involved. The investigation is ongoing.
