Benton Harbor City Commissioners have appointed a new city clerk. During a special meeting Monday, the city commission hired Tiffany Moore to serve in the role. She’s currently the village clerk of Stevensville. Mayor Marcus Muhammad welcomed Moore following the vote.

“I’d like to thank and congratulate our new city clerk,” Muhammad said. “The city of Benton Harbor has a rich legacy, as you know.”

According to The Herald Palladium, Moore will continue working part time for Stevensville while the village seeks her replacement. She lives in Benton Township and replaces Kimberly Thompson as the clerk in Benton Harbor. Thompson left her position with the city in October. While the city had no clerk, City Manager Ellis Mitchell served in the role.
