A Van Buren County man has won $500,000 in a Michigan Lottery game. The Lottery tells us 65-year-old James Watson bought his winning Power 777 instant ticket at the BP station on Phoenix Street in South Haven. Watson says he was watching a football game when he scratched off his weekly $20 lotto purchase. He didn’t have his glasses on and thought he had a $5,000 winner, but when he had a clerk scan the ticket the next day, it was for $500,000. He says when he heard that, he couldn’t catch his breath and almost fell over. With his winnings, Watson plans to buy some property, a new vehicle, and then save the remainder.
