The head of the Michigan Economic Development Commission says the state was not “actively involved” in the process that lead to Ford’s decision to invest more than $11 billion in Tennessee and Kentucky. MEDC CEO Quintin Messer Jr. says while the state would love to have all of Ford’s investments in Michigan, this is only one announcement.

“We congratulate and are very excited about Ford’s announcement and as I alluded to, there will be tremendous activities, and continue to be tremendous activities, with Ford here in Michigan,” said Messer.

Messer saying Michigan will remain competitive when it comes to seeking electric vehicle investments.
