A Michigan House committee is hearing testimony this week on a bill that would prevent employers from requiring employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Republican state Representative Beth Griffin chairs the standing committee on workforce, trades, and talent and told Michigan News Network we need studies for businesses that are making decisions.

“I want to be able to go to work and not be forced to take anything into your body to keep your job,” Griffin said.

The chief clinical officer at Henry Ford Hospital, where masks and vaccines are required, says the issue should not be political. He says transmission is too high right now not to take precautions.
