Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a pickup and a pedestrian on M-139 in Benton Township on Wednesday morning. The Benton Township Police Department says it happened at the intersection of M-139 and Pipestone Road shortly before 9 a.m. First responders found a 31-year-old Benton Harbor resident with what they called “significant injuries.” Life saving efforts were made, but the victim died. The driver of the pickup truck was a 70-year-old Stevensville man. Police say he was not hurt and is cooperating. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Benton Township Police Department.
