State grants for street work have been announced for the city of Bangor and the village of Decatur in 2022. Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office on Wednesday announced the latest recipients of Transportation Economic Development Fund grants. A total of $3.7 million was announced for 25 villages and small cities around Michigan to do infrastructure projects. Bangor will get a $250,000 matching grant for improvements to Industrial Park Drive, while Decatur will get a $169,000 matching grant for South George Street. Governor Whitmer said with the grant dollars, the communities selected “can get started on fixing their roads to meet their most critical infrastructure needs at the local level right now.” The grants announced on Wednesday range from $34,000 to $250,000.
