A three-year-old Benton Harbor girl is recovering at Spectrum Health Lakeland after being shot in the arm early Saturday morning. Public safety and Berrien County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home in the 800 block of Monroe and the sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit found several bullet holes in the home. The little girl was shot as she was in bed shortly after 4:30 a.m. She told deputies giving her first aid “I don’t want to die,” and she was taken by Medic 1 ambulance to the hospital. No suspects have yet been identified and the shooting is still under investigation.
