During a visit to Detroit Tuesday, Governor Whitmer said she does not anticipate a return to a mask mandate in Michigan. However, she told Michigan News Network people need to remain cautious.
“Right now, everyone can avail themselves of a vaccine, but not everyone can actually be vaccinated for a variety of reasons, like immunocompromised people, for instance,” Whitmer said. “So wearing a mask is an act of care for others who can’t get vaccinated.”
The governor was in southwest Detroit to announce a $100 million grant for affordable housing in the community. She wore a mask.
