A professional competitive eater sets a new record at a west Michigan bar by scarfing down coney dogs. The Corner Bar in Rockford, just north of Grand Rapids, has a “Hall of Fame” wall for anyone who can eat 12 chili dogs in under 4 hours. Ema Boehms is the assistant general manager at the bar and says competitive eater Molly Schuyler shattered the current record by downing 50 coney dogs in just 22 minutes.

“I think she came in setting a goal of getting to 50 but she had mentioned she definitely wants to come back and try and go for something higher,” says Boehms. “When she was done we rang the little champ bell that we have and everybody clapped and different tables got up and kind of came around to congratulate her.”

The previous record was set by another competitive eater, Tim “Eater X” Janus, who ate 43-and-a-half chili dogs in 2006. Champion hot dog eater Joey Chestnut also brought his appetite in 2006, but could only manage 36 chili dogs.
