The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says a 73 year old Saint Joseph woman is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Royalton Township early on Monday. It happened shortly after midnight on Marquette Woods Road near Scottdale Road. A 46 year old St Joseph man was headed west on Marquette Woods Road when his vehicle struck Linda Martinez. Police say it was dark in the area with no street lights. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor. The case will be referred to the Berrien County Prosecutor’s office for further review.
