A Benton Harbor man is facing charges after a shooting in St. Joseph Township Thursday. The St. Joseph Township Police Department says officers were called to 150 Hoover Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. on a report of shots fired. They learned there had been a dispute and shots had been fired between two people.  One was shot in the leg and taken to Spectrum Health Lakeland by a private vehicle. Police say the shooting occurred as a result of an argument involving several individuals, all from Benton Harbor. The person who’d been shot was treated and released from the hospital and then arrested on a charge of assault with intent to create great bodily harm, less than murder. All of the others involved were interviewed and released pending a review by the Berrien County Prosecutor’s office.
