Temperatures are in the 70’s but the state is on the hunt for the state Christmas tree. Department of Technology, Management & Budget spokeswoman Khristyn Herman explains what they want.

“What we’re looking for is a spruce or a fir, at least 60 feet tall, with a trunk diameter no more than 30 inches, and it needs to be available to the state of Michigan at no cost,” says Herman.

Nominations can be sent to ChristmasTree@michigan.gov by August 15th. The tree will be placed in front of the state Capitol and lit up for the holidays.
