This weekend’s lottery jackpots are getting pretty big. Tonight’s Mega Millions is $430 million, while Saturday night’s Powerball is $183 million. Jake Harris, with the Michigan Lottery Commission, says if you win, you can take payments or a lump sum.
“The lump sum on the Mega Millions is going to be about $291,000,000 and the lump sum for the Powerball jackpot at about $127,000,000,” says Harris. “Even if you were to take a lump sum you’re still looking at a huge payday and a lot of cash strapped to enjoy with your family.”
Harris says the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are one in 303 million, but an Oakland County lottery club won a $1.05 billion jackpot recently.
