You may be eligible for a $50 monthly coronavirus pandemic discount on your home broadband bill starting next week. The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program was part of a roughly $900 billion COVID-19 relief package. Comcast spokesperson Michelle Gilbert says it adds to the company’s ongoing efforts to expend broadband access.

“Our participation in the Emergency Broadband Benefit really is an extension of our Internet Essentials Program, which has been around for ten years. It really is the crux of our commitment to digital equity and provides digital access for $9.95 a month,” says Gilbert.

Comcast customers can find more information at xfinity.com /ebb. More than 800 broadband providers are participating in the program, including AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.
