Michigan is reporting 5,584 new cases of COVID-19 for Wednesday. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says the state has had a total of more than 804,000 COVID cases since the start of the pandemic and 17,031 deaths. There were 45 new deaths reported for Wednesday. Berrien County was listed with 60 new cases over Tuesday, now at a total of 12,847 cases since the pandemic began. The county has had 242 deaths, up two from Tuesday. Van Buren County on Wednesday reported 36 new cases for a pandemic total of 6,039. The county has had 95 deaths, unchanged for the day. Cass County listed 25 new cases for Wednesday, with a total of 4,470 cases and 67 deaths, the same as the day before.
