State Releases Monday COVID Numbers

Michigan is reporting 8,574 new cases of COVID-19 for Sunday and Monday combined. That works out to an average of 4,287 per day. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services coronavirus dashboard shows Michigan has had a total of more than 793,000 COVID cases since the start of the pandemic and 16,901 deaths. There were 61 new deaths reported for Sunday and Monday. Berrien County was listed with 85 new cases over Saturday, now at a total of 12,747 cases since the pandemic began. The county has had 241 deaths, up one from Saturday. Van Buren County on Monday reported 41 new cases over Saturday for a pandemic total of 5,961. The county has had 94 deaths, unchanged from Saturday. Cass County listed 40 new cases for Sunday and Monday, with a total of 4,431 cases and 67 deaths, the same as Saturday. The state’s coronavirus vaccine dashboard shows just under six million doses have been administered in Michigan. Berrien County has administered more than 85,000 doses, Van Buren County has given out 43,000, and Cass County has administered 20,000.
