A Southwestern Michigan College student has been named the 2021 Michigan Miss Agriculture USA. Shaelyn Bundy of Dowagiac was crowned this month and will now advance to the national competition in Ohio this June. Bundy is an agricultural business student whose ag interests include dairy feeder steers, market hogs, draft horses, and market chickens. She’s currently attending SMC and Michigan State University, for which she is fulfilling an internship with Watervliet Fruit Exchange, and she’ll walk in SMC’s 54th Commencement in May. Miss Agriculture USA is a non-profit organization focused on promoting agriculture through queens of all ages who “agvocate,” celebrate, and educate farming’s diverse aspects. Since Bundy competed virtually, her crown will be mailed to her.
