There are 5,177 new COVID-19 cases in Michigan for Tuesday, bringing the total during the pandemic to 665,948. The Department of Health and Human Services says 48 people died, with 20 of those being from vital records reviews. Since last March, 16,082 Michiganders have died from coronavirus. In southwest Michigan, Berrien County has 67 new cases for a total of 11,655 with 231 deaths. Cass County has 29 new cases for 4,049 and 63 deaths. Van Buren County has 32 new cases for a total of 5,186 with 88 deaths. There were no deaths Tuesday in the three counties from COVID-19.
