A 73-year-old Benton Township woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Monday. The Benton Township Police Department says it happened at Cinema Way and Orchard Crossing shortly before 11:30 a.m. Officers arrived to find the woman lying in the road. Life saving efforts were not successful and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police learned the victim was trying to cross Orchard Crossing as a vehicle was turning on to the same road and she was struck. The driver of the vehicle was a 79-year-old Stevensville resident. The driver was not hurt and is cooperating with police. Once the investigation is complete, it will be turned over to the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office for review of any potential charges.
