New COVID-19 cases to be identified in Michigan for Sunday and Monday total 3,143. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says that works out to an average of 1,571 per each day. The state also reported nine COVID deaths for Sunday and Monday combined, making for a pandemic total of 15,783. Michigan’s had a total more than 610,000 cases of the illness since last March. The state’s coronavirus website shows Berrien County with 40 more cases than on Saturday for a total of 11,027. Berrien County has had 228 deaths, the same as on Saturday. Van Buren County on Monday reported nine new cases over Saturday for a pandemic total of 4,854. The county has had 87 deaths, the same as Saturday.
