Several animals have died in barn fire in Chikaming Township. The fire department rescued two goats, a pair of horses and some chickens but couldn’t get to a peacock, several chickens and four llamas. The 9-1-1 call came in around 5:30 Thursday morning. Fire officials say it was fully engulfed when they arrived, and they couldn’t get in to the barn to save the animals. Foul play isn’t suspected. The fire remains under investigation.
