Indiana Michigan Power has launched a virtual open house for a transmission line project it has planned for the Benton Harbor area. It says the Benton Harbor-Fair Plain Transmission Line Rebuild Project is designed to ensure customers in Benton Harbor and Fair Plain have reliable electric service, and part of it will involve the upgrade of wooden power poles to steel monopoles. Other parts of the project will include upgrading about seven miles of transmission line and rebuilding some sections of the high voltage transmission line. The $17 million project is presented in detail with the virtual open house at IndianaMichiganPower.com/BentonHarbor. The work is scheduled to start in the fall of 2022 and conclude in the fall of 2023.
