The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is urging everyone to get themselves signed up for a COVID-19 vaccine as we wait for more doses to be available. Kerry Ebersole is a special advisor for the Protect Michigan Commission, and tells WSJM News local health departments are signing people up, and there are other avenues for getting on a waiting list.

“If you have internet access, please visit Michigan.gov/COVIDVaccine,” Ebersole said. “There, you will find the most up to date information as well as vaccine eligibility. From there we also have a COVID hotline, 888-535-6136.”

The state has announced a partnership allowing those without internet access to call 211 to find out about getting signed up for a vaccine. Ebersole says the state health department also recently announced a partnership with the national education technology company GetSetUp to help seniors navigate the state’s coronavirus website. She notes more than a million people have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine in Michigan, and nearly 500,000 have gotten both doses.
