The director of the Berrien County Road Department is on leave, although county officials won’t provide many more details. Jason Latham was placed on leave late last week, with Berrien County Board of Commissioners Chair Mac Elliott telling WSJM News the move was made by County Administrator Brian Dissette. Elliott says he doesn’t know the reason, adding the issue is between Dissette and Latham. Dissette told us Monday he can’t comment on a personnel matter. Elliot says he is confident the situation will be brought to a resolution that suits the county and Latham. Latham has been director of the road department for three years.
