An 80-year-old Kalamazoo County man with no travel history has contracted the B.1.1.7 variant of COVID-19. County health officials say they are working on contact tracing everyone who has been in close contact with him to try to track it down. The variant was first identified in the United Kingdom and spreads easier than the dominant strain. At least 28 cases of the same variant have been found in Washtenaw and Wayne counties.
