1,800 Cases Of COVID Identified In Michigan Thursday

Michigan is reporting 1,872 new cases of COVID-19 for Thursday. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says that brings the state’s total to more than 556,000 since the pandemic started in March. There were 80 additional deaths to report for Thursday, 67 of which were identified through a review of vital records. That brings Michigan’s COVID death total to 14,491. The state says Berrien County added 36 additional COVID cases over Wednesday for a total of 9,985. Berrien County’s deaths remain at 204. Van Buren County’s cases increased on Thursday by 11 to 4,438. Van Buren County’s deaths remain at 81. Meanwhile, Michigan’s COVID-19 vaccine dashboard on Thursday showed more than 854,000 people have been given a vaccine dose as of Wednesday. It says 11,914 doses have been administered in Berrien County, and 5,360 have been administered in Van Buren County.
