The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has announced another round of businesses being fined for COVID-19 safety violations, and among those to get hit is a Dowagiac company. MIOSHA says Michigan Die Casting has been cited for violations including a lack of a COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, failure to train employees on the workplace controls for COVID-19, failure to implement a self-screening protocol for COVID-19, a lack of increased cleaning or disinfecting of the facility, not providing face coverings, and not enforcing the use of masks. The company has been fined $16,800 after an employee lodged a complaint with the state, followed up by an on-site inspection. The business has 15 working days to contest the violations and penalties. Michigan Die Casting is among ten companies facing fines that were announced by MIOSHA Friday.
