At the request of President-elect Joe Biden, Governor Gretchen Whitmer is in Washington DC for his inauguration tomorrow. On a press call Tuesday on her Michigan COVID Recovery Plan, she said she didn’t decide until Monday to make the trip.
“This relationship is incredibly important and I think going to be a strong one for the state of Michigan,” says Whitmer. “So I am glad to be here, and I feel very safe.”
Whitmer is a co-chair for the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
